Workshop 2 – Co-design for achieving change
This workshop took place on 30th November 2020. The Agents of Change Toolkit project was beginning to developing a toolkit that helps teachers, schools, and other learning environments to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG4 of providing equitable and inclusive education. This workshop offered the chance for attendees to work with experts in game design and playful learning to develop an activity that would help their institutions achieve that change.
Attendees worked on a specific change they wanted to achieve, within one of these priority areas or directly relevant to one of the SDGs. This could have been something large that affects their whole school and beyond (e.g. “develop a whole school and community approach to addressing the attainment gap) or something specific (e.g. “devise a strategy to engage all students and their parents in their classwork during the disruptions”).
Within the workshop the ACT team and attendees co-designed a prototype game or playful activity to fit their specific need in their local context. They were able to the activity away and start using it straight away and had the chance to test and develop it further at a subsequent workshop.
